Registered Counsellor · Cape Town & Online
You don't have to carry it on your own.
I'm Jake, a registered counsellor working with adults and adolescents, in person in Cape Town and online across South Africa. Together we make sense of trauma, grief, identity and the chapters of life that feel too heavy to hold alone.

About Jake
Nothing you bring, will be too much.
If you're reading this, something has probably been sitting with you for a while. Maybe you've told nobody. Maybe you've told everybody and it hasn't helped yet. I've spent most of my working life in rooms where people say the hard thing out loud for the first time. It's never as frightening as they expect, and there is real relief on the other side of saying it.
My work over the past five years has taken me through trauma centres, community mental health settings and adolescent care, supporting adults and adolescents through trauma, loss and crisis. I also helped start an organisation working on adolescent mental health in under-resourced schools, so I know the particular weight young people carry.
I won't rush you, judge you, or hand you a one-size-fits-all formula. You don't have to be ready, and you don't need the right words or a tidy version of the story. We go at your pace and figure out together what actually helps.
